Job Description

NextStar Energy (NSE) is a joint venture between LG Energy Solution and Stellantis. NextStar Energy will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the site on over 200-acres of land on Twin Oaks Drive near Banwell Road.


The manufacturing facility is targeted to have an annual production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.

Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

to join our team at NextStar-energy.


The

Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

is responsible for leading supplier quality teams to meet the engineering requirements, production demand, and customer expectations in a safe and timely manner. This position is responsible for driving world-class manufacturing performance by ensuring that products and materials from suppliers meet our quality standards, playing a crucial role in maintaining product quality and supplier relationships.

Responsibilities:



Able to work flexible hours as needed to support and work with HQ, and global sites. Complete daily documentation and audits, as required by the position. Maintain 5S and 3R standards. Adhere to general, and position-specific, dress code requirements. Participate in, and successfully complete, any and all training requirements. Regional and Global Travel. Provide expert guidance to suppliers regarding Drawing GD&T, Standard Operating Procedures, PFMEA's, Control Plans, Critical Characteristics, SPC & 8D/5Why analysis. Lead PPAP & 4M changes representing Nextstar Energy. Troubleshooting quality related issues in supplied products and materials. Maintain a positive, dedicated attitude and demonstrate effectiveness to achieve given goals within due dates. The willingness and ability to work flexible hours occasionally to support the team. Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with a global network of suppliers, NSE management & customers in the case of issues. Analyze data and prepare reports, statements, and projections. Lead and participate in the APQP process, incoming inspection issue support, launching new incoming inspection initiatives, QRQC, communicating lessons learned and read across.

Requirements:



Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience in Quality, Engineering, Chemical or equivalent; or a combination of more than 3 years of Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Lab management, and/or Training experience in the Manufacturing industry. Experience with or knowledge of large global supply chains and multiple plants. Significant experience with PPAP and related processed is a must have. Project management skills is a must have. Knowledge of 8-D's, Fishbone Diagrams, 5 - Why's, LSS six sigma, or other problem-solving tools. Data analysis skills. Strong computer skills: MS Office Suite. Must be able to use Excel, PowerPoint, pivot tables, equations, and plots for data analysis. Experience with report writing in Microsoft Word and graphical analysis in Minitab is strongly preferred. Product Development or Reliability Experience preferred. Experience with Global Plant and Supplier Development is a plus. Experience with Customer Service roles is a plus.
