Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to assist children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role is essential in providing educational support and fostering a nurturing environment that promotes the development and well-being of each child. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with disabilities, and a passion for making a positive impact in their lives.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one support to children with ASD in various settings, including home, school, and community environments. Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each child's unique needs. Educate children through engaging activities that promote social skills, communication, and independence. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the child's development. Monitor and document the child's progress, behaviors, and any challenges encountered during sessions. Create a safe and supportive atmosphere that encourages learning and personal growth. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to working with children with disabilities.

Experience

Previous experience working with children is required; experience specifically with children who have ASD or other disabilities is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and team members. Ability to educate and engage children through creative methods tailored to their individual learning styles. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support children's development are essential qualities for this role.
