Job Summary

The Support Services Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of all Environmental, Linen, and Transport Services provided throughout the organization. This includes (but is not limited to) ensuring all individual frontline staff are supported in the completion of their tasks, areas meet expectations in terms of cleanliness levels, completion of customer requests are done in a timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Directly oversees the performance and support of Hospitality Services Associates (HSAs), Linen Services Associates (LSAs), Transport Services Associates (TSAs)
  • Maintains accuracy of direct report job routines and checklists in consultation with the area coordinator
  • Maintains a safe working environment for direct reports in adherence to Ministry laws and guidelines
  • Ensures direct reports have the tools required to perform their duties, i.e. supplies, tools, uniforms, etc.
  • Audits internal environmental cleanliness levels, shares results with employee and customer, and arranges for the correction of deficiencies
  • Manages discharge bed cleaning and transport request flow by coordinating efficient assignment and turnaround time
  • Ensures infection prevention and control measures are maintained throughout the organization relative cleaning and disinfection
  • Orders all departments Environmental supplies including (but not limited to) paper products, chemicals, and equipment
  • Addresses work place injury reports by seeing to employee needs, investigating injury site, and instituting corrective action
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assists with scheduling frontline replacement staff as required on a per unit need basis
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 Secondary School Diploma
  • Two years\' experience working as a Hospitality, Linen, Transport Services Associate in a hospital.
  • Preferred experience in formal supervision
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of hospital information systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications in the Support Services Department.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and workplace safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and manage change.
  • Responsible for attendance management,
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated problem assessment skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
  • Demonstrated individual leadership skills
As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital\'s Occupational Health and Safety department. Successful candidates will be required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination (two doses) from the Ontario Ministry of Health website or other authorized source directly to the Occupational Health and Safety department.
