Voila is a new team dedicated to launching and scaling Sobeys new e-commerce grocery home delivery business. This is a rare opportunity to join a start-up within a larger organization. You will help launch and operate a new brand in the Alberta, Ontario and Quebec markets powered by Ocado Group's world-leading e-commerce grocery platform. Ready to Make an impact?


Check the vans for damage, temperature, fuel levels, and direct the vans to the relevant parking location in the yard. Inform the Fleet team of any defects requiring their attention through relevant process.


Ensure that vans are parked correctly and efficiently in order that the warehouse dispatch team can easily collect vans and bring to the dock doors for loading.


Aid the fleet team with moving vans to off-site maintenance vendor appointments.


Perform circle check inspection and record information on the van report (new damage, mileage in and out)


Communicate with CFC operational staff on direction of moving vans to assigned doors and to the inbound and outbound lanes


Here's where you'll be focusing:


Supports the Shunt, Fleet and Delivery Operations at the Customer Fulfillment Centre


Develops a high performing team; directs day-to day activities of teammates.


Provides performance feedback and coaching to teammates.


Drives team engagement, development, and retention by connecting team to the Voila vision, encouraging innovation, clear communication, and continuous feedback.


Embeds and sustains protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)


Actively participates in the recruitment of teammates.


Approximately 20-25 direct reports


Supports continuous improvement effort by utilizing operation feedback.


Partners with Training Specialist to deliver training content.


Accountable to ensure consistent standards and continuous learning.


Ensures all teammates have current driver abstracts, valid licensing, monitor driver behavior and reporting of hours, and ensure drivers are trained appropriately to provide best in class home delivery experience.


Supports and directly reports to the Fleet Solutions Manager to ensure fleet availability and safety.


Accountable for 'On Time to Dock doors and movement of vans (95%+) metric


Adhere to and implement all applicable Food Safety program requirements.


General Understanding and adherence of Food Safety Policies or relevant Standard Operating Procedures such as General Health and Hygiene, Allergen Policy, Temperature Checks, etc.


Support expansion of new spoke facilities


What you have to offer:


Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in transportation and or logistics field including experience in a leadership role with a high focus on customer experience/satisfaction


Home Delivery experience & Fleet, Shunter (business to customer) in an e-commerce environment an asset


Post-Secondary education in a business-related field


A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.


Strong knowledge of Employment Standards Legislation


Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving abilities.


Experience in effectively managing a large team.


Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and external parties.


Class 5 Drivers' License (non GDL), ability to Travel within the Alberta and willingness to travel outside of Alberta
