SALARY: $78,390 - $92,223

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:

The Supervisor is responsible to ensure safe, efficient, profitable and timely completion of all RRC Rail Car projects. The Supervisor ensures production schedules are met and work is completed in accordance with quality specifications.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise unionized staff working in the Refurbishment and Repair division (Car Shop)
  • In assigned Station/Shift, responsible for maintaining production schedule, ensuring production line tasks are completed to specification, scheduling and time standards, ensuring station documentation is current and initiating changes as required for station documentation
  • Ensure employees work safely and efficiently in a positive work environment
  • Provide liaison with customer representatives
  • Recommend efficiency improvements within their Station/Shift
  • Provide task execution training/instruction for unionized staff
  • Perform and document daily safety observations to ensure employees are working in a safe manner and following all applicable procedures
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Secondary School Diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED)
  • Previous supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized manufacturing setting
  • Good analytical and leadership skills
  • Must be results oriented and a team player
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Have a solid understanding of collective agreements
  • Previous experience supervising project work is an asset
  • Knowledge of maintenance and repairs of passenger cars
  • Committed to Company Health and Safety
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite
