Working within the vision and values of Vancouver Coastal Health and in accordance with the organizational policies and processes, and reporting to the Manager Relational Security, the Supervisor Relational Security Officers is responsible for providing supervision to assigned Relational Security staff. The Supervisor ensures that staff follow departmental policies and procedures at the direction of the Manager Relational Security to establish a supportive presence at healthcare sites to emphasize, maintain, and ensure security of persons and property in accordance with established policies and procedures. Provides a proactive approach to managing potential violence and aggression within the healthcare setting, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff and visitors. The Supervisor Relational Security Officers works as part of a Relational Security Team that promotes a variety of trauma informed interventions, practices and safety & prevention services. This work is framed within VCH\xe2\x80\x99s commitments to Indigenous cultural safety, anti-racism, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Current BC Security Guard License, OFA Level II Certification.
Certification of Training Completion in Advanced Security Training, plus three years\' recent related experience, with one year in a supervisor capacity, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Successful completion of the Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum and Advanced Security Training are expectations of the role.
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Ability to supervise.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment
