We operate the province\'s electricity grid 24/7, design, run and oversee the wholesale electricity markets, and plan and prepare to meet Ontario\'s electricity needs - now and into the future.The OpportunityWorking under the leadership of the Senior Manager, Community & Indigenous Engagement, the Supervisor has primary responsibility to lead the development of community outreach and stakeholder engagement programs consistent with the strategic objectives of the corporation.What you\'ll be doingThe essential functions of the Supervisor include:

  • Manages community outreach and stakeholder engagement activities for initiatives that cross multiple divisions of the organization, including
  • Leading cross-functional, internal working groups in the development and implementation of effective outreach with communities and stakeholders.
  • Developing and managing project and program specific outreach plans designed to project build new and strengthen existing relationships with communities and stakeholders and build support for IESO\'s key priorities.
  • Building meaningful and effective relationships with community leaders and stakeholder groups.
  • Managing activities to support engagement initiatives including research, promotion, public affairs, media affairs, and employee participation.
  • Developing and implementing tools to facilitate the sharing of information and communication of project activities across the organization.
  • Developing information resources designed to support outreach activities including demographic information, competitive information, contact history, contact feedback, and general stakeholder background information.
  • Ensuring external information resources, such as the corporate website, are kept up-to-date and provide a sufficient level of information for stakeholders.
  • Undertakes a regular evaluation of activities to determine effectiveness and makes appropriate recommendations to the teams.
  • Supervises the daily operations of the unit, including:
  • Supervises direct reports engaged in community outreach, stakeholder events and program response initiatives and others from time to time on a project basis.
  • Provides input into the development of the annual Community and Stakeholder Relations budget, including monitoring budget performance and identifying cost saving opportunities.
  • Prepares a calendar of annual outreach and engagement events.
  • Ensures the stakeholder consultation portion of the website is up-to-date and includes meaningful information for the stakeholder groups.
  • Ensures information resources related to the different stakeholder groups that interact with the IESO are current and provide meaningful information.
  • Oversees the maintenance of the organization\'s stakeholder database of contacts and feedback information, including all relevant documents which form part of evidentiary records, including:
  • Maintaining a corporate library of stakeholder communications (sent and received), graphics and relevant stakeholder data.
  • Maintaining up-to-date information resources for internal clients.
  • Reviewing stakeholder feedback with the goal of implementing continuous improvements of stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Provides support to the Senior Manager, Community & Indigenous Relations for community outreach and stakeholder engagement activities of corporate priority.
  • Undertakes special projects as required, including the management of external resources.
  • Represents the company during community projects, public engagements, and project-specific engagements.
  • And other duties or responsibilities as may be assigned.
What you need to succeed
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully developing, managing and executing stakeholder plans and programs
  • Demonstrated experience with public and community relations, familiarity with advertising and media affairs an asset
  • Superior communications skills - written oral and presentation, with strong diplomatic skills and the ability interact with all levels of the organization and with stakeholders
  • Proven contract and vendor management experience for projects related to stakeholder, public and community relations and communication support
  • Strong project management and program management experience in designing, delivering and evaluating programs
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze issue, consolidate feedback, develop hypotheses and/or strategic responses, consistent with corporate objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead activities, with and without direct positional authority
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and to manage groups with divergent views
  • Proven ability to develop and manage budgets
  • Demonstrated research and writing skills
  • Knowledge of energy issues an asset
  • Detail oriented; attention to accuracy
  • Strong listening and responding skills; strong diplomatic skills
  • Good influencing skills; directing, persuading and motivating others
  • Ability to build relationships; excellent interpersonal skills

  • Computer literacy in MS Office suite
  • The education required to complete the responsibilities associated with the position is typically obtained through 4 years of university training
