You would be instructing recreational gymnastics fundamentals to kids ages 0-11 years old through classes and various events. (Ability to teach creative movement dance -mix of ballet, jazz, & hip hop for ages 2-6 is a BONUS!) You would also be responsible for customer service, and once trained, would be in a supervisor role at the centre.

Supervisor role would include:

Overseeing staff on shifts: ensuring expectations are met at the centre regarding program structure, culture/values, & cleaning duties. Providing ongoing feedback & formal assessments with the team, and communicating with other customer service & management team members. Filling in during illness/emergencies of staff if needed, and filling in on duties/being point of contact if main manager/owner is away/unavailable. Being available for parent questions/concerns/emergencies. Assisting the owner/manager with collaboration on special projects. Contributing ideas for marketing, community building, and growth of the centre.
At Haven we provide weekly gymnastics & dance classes, day camps when school is out, kids night out events, field trips, open gym sessions, private lessons, and birthday parties- and are always looking to expand our program offerings. You would train in and be able to work in all of these programs. This role has potential to build towards a full time position, with added responsibilities as we grow!

Part time to start:

Around 20 hours per week to start, but may be more some weeks, and will grow over time with positive performance. Weekly class & customer service schedule is set, but events, meetings, and special projects may all affect weekly total hours.

Shifts would be primarily weekday afternoon/early evenings (Mainly T-W-TH), & Saturdays.

Must be available 1 weekend day (preferably Saturdays)- this is mandatory for employment- no exceptions

No super early mornings or late nights- huge perk compared to most service industry jobs & supervisor roles. Competitive wages. Starting rate well above minimum wage, and can go up from there based on previous experience, skillset, and ongoing performance.

Responsibilities:



Plan and deliver gymnastics (& dance if applicable) lessons to students of various ages and skill levels using pre-set lesson plans

and

your own plans for 6+.

Teach proper techniques and form for gymnastics skills, including floor/tumbling, vault, balance beam, bars, and trampoline. Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students. Provide individualized instruction/skills progressions and feedback to help students improve- spotting children as needed. Monitor student progress and track their achievements. Ensure equipment is set up properly and maintained in a safe condition. Ensure safety rules are being followed at all times. Communicate with parents or guardians regarding student progress and any wins or concerns. Communicate current events/marketing materials/important messages to families. Facilitate fun active games and activities at birthday parties, kids night out, and day camps for kids of all ages. Facilitate quiet down-time activities when needed at events- i.e. crafts, colouring, reading, floor games.

Requirements:



Previous experience as a gymnast, cheerleader/tumbler, and/or gymnastics instructor

is a must

for this position. (Dance instruction knowledge is a BONUS as well!) Experience with and knowledge of gymnastics & dance techniques, drills, skills, spotting, and safety. Experience in a supervisor/leadership/management role is an ASSET! Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (English is a must- other language fluency is a bonus!). Ability to work well with children and provide positive reinforcement. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively. Valid CPR + First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). Clear criminal record check provided (or consent/willingness to obtain).
