  • Responding to the DEL, the Team Captain is responsible for the general supervision of the members of the operating crews in the Polymers production areas. The Team Captain is responsible and accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the Polymers plants.
  • Works with the Polymers Specialist(s) to ensure
  • all crew members are adequately trained to operate safely in the areas for which they are qualified
  • identified procedure / training deficiencies are captured and amended
  • Gatekeeper and maintenance of all EIPs
  • Assigns tasks as required to all operators
  • Daily rounds of unit to ensure safety, housekeeping standards, audits and training moments
Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years Operator Experience preferd
  • High School Diploma or recognized equivalent
  • Review and track all safety related records for compliance
  • Review all production records, logs and readings
  • Organizing, tracking and/or coordinating all Maint activities
  • ensures safe, reliable, efficient, and quality operation
  • work with Maint Scheduler for Daily schedule, weekly backlog picks and S/D activities
  • Daily meeting with Gatekeeper to coordinate immediate maintenance issues
  • Review Daily maintenance activities at morning ops meeting
  • Provide instructions and Assigns tasks as required for
  • Daily operational instructions
  • Act as resource and assist operators in troubleshooting process and equipment problems
  • Provide feedback to employees with respect to compliance with intent of continuous improvement:

Leadership
  • Maintain a relationship with the crew that will allow the lead to represent the crew at departmental and site level.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the site vision and values
    Safety
  • Independently lead planned safety events as directed by the department supervisor (SIP, Toolbox , etc)
  • Improve the safety performance of the work unit on an ongoing basis
  • Promote the highest level of safety through out the department
    Training
  • Understanding of the job progressions, knowledge requirements and departmental procedures
  • Work with the Senior Operator and Specialist to establish training and progression plans for the work unit.
    Execution
  • Understand and execute on all production processes within the work unit
  • Understand and execute the support processes for the department and site
  • Ensure work unit production targets are met on a daily basis.
  • Promote and participate in continuous improvement activities Involved in other duties such as:
    • Recruitment of operating employees
    • Input to product specifications
    • Input to plant alterations and design changes
    • Achieving quality, utilization, and production volume targets in conjunction with Production Engineer
