The Opportunity



As the Supervisor, People & Culture, you will run the daily operations of the People & Culture department including employee relations, recruiting, leave management, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role plays a strong part in driving positive employee experience. Reporting to the General Manager, People & Culture, this role will work on strategic projects to help move department initiatives forward while supporting the learning and development of the junior team members.



As we continue to align our policies and procedures across our organization this role will also have an opportunity to contribute to process improvements and strategic activities. You will partner with an amazing team to drive positive employee culture.



Responsibilities



Acting as first point of contact for the People & Culture department: advising managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, procedures, programs, and processes;

Investigate formal complaints;

Manage team to deliver on employee experience and P&C KPIs;

Ensure Association Policies and Procedures are followed;

Benefits administration for the YMCA benefit plan and provide support for employees through enrolment process;

Maintain Department Metrics on a monthly basis;

Oversee the processing of AIP applications;

Supports the development, deployment and maintenance of P&C programs, policies and procedures including Succession Planning, Workforce Planning, eNPS;

Support ongoing Training and Development for YMCA staff;

Responsible for effective full cycle recruitment from job posting to offer letters, including building a talent pipeline;

Assisting with forecast staffing needs, actively recruit and attract employees;

Ensures the development and accurate updating of job descriptions, job postings and all relevant recruitment materials

Supervise the Assistant and Generalist

Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications



Human Resources Management Diploma

Bachelor's Degree in related field

4+ years experience in a similar role

Supervisory experience an asset

Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office software.

Experience working with an ATS and/or HRIS

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Strong time management and organization skills.
