With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. • Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
• Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to ensure that equipment downtime is minimized and that production targets are met.
• Coordinate with other departments to schedule equipment repairs and maintenance during planned downtime.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and reduce unexpected breakdowns.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment histories, and inventory levels.
• Collaborate with procurement and inventory management teams to ensure that spare parts and consumables are available when needed

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma in Heavy-Duty mechanic or Truck and Coach mechanic or relevant mining equipment Qualification
• Have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a mechanic.
• Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervision role.Strong technical knowledge of mobile equipment systems and components.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance strategies and techniques.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the mining industry.
• Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.

Working Conditions:

• The ideal candidate for the role will work a rotation of 7 days on, 7 days off (12-hour days) or 14 days on, 14 days off (12-hour days).
