It has a strong future in mining and milling, with an ongoing mission to grow as a safe, prosperous, and sustainable nickel producer.We invite you to be part of our evolution.Our Team:The purpose of the Thompson Concentrator is to separate, collect, and then concentrate the nickel (pentlandite) and copper (chalcopyrite) minerals from the barren rock (gangue). The Concentrator team endeavors to execute activities in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring consistent, reliable operations, with focus on doing what is right for the long-term stability of the business.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Concentrator Maintenance Leadership team in Thompson, Manitoba. This is a permanent position.As a maintenance supervisor, you will continuously improve the work team performance through effective us of established processes and procedures in achieving assigned objectives. This includes ensuring the completion of assigned work with consistency and accuracy.Additionally, in this position you will:

• Hold crew accountable for area safety behavior, housekeeping, teamwork and professionalism.
• Work on a rotation schedule (5/4 schedule days and nights).
• Supervise and coordinate the \xe2\x80\x9cmaintenance work\xe2\x80\x9d components of the Asset Management Framework
• Carry out tasks while on shift to assist in achieving the overall area targets for your area of accountability.
• Work within budget, guidelines and standards and execute safety and maintenance plans as established.
• Work with the crew to develop an interactive workplace environment.
• Work collaterally and cross functionally, with colleagues, engineering, production and services teams to achieve the objectives of the Maintenance Department
• Participate in planning and scheduling management routines.
• Lead a unionized workforce, identify necessary training for employees to meet the requirements of the area.
• Improve reliability, maintenance and processing methods to reduce cost an avoid loss of production because of equipment malfunction or failure time.
• Lead a unionized workforce and manage a crew according to our Vale policies and procedures, and respective collective agreement.
• Required to work surface and underground locations.
• Review the work order status daily:

• To plan/schedule newly approved, urgent or emergency work.
• Track upcoming work.
• Identify and raise all critical issues that threaten the successful planning/scheduling of work orders for completion.
• Raise to appropriate authority if planning/scheduling tasks by the required end date results in a requirement for additional downtime and or resources.
• Manage and adjust resources capacities within SAP to reflect actual resource availability.

About YouEducation:

• Interprovincial Red Seal trade certification is preferred.
• Completion of a supervisor training program is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in an industrial setting
• Experience with SAP is preferred.

Skills:

• Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
• Ability to utilize each team member to their fullest potential while motivating the team to work together in the most efficient manner.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, influence and collaborate with others to build effective working relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
