Our Team:
The Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) Team at CCNR/EW is an integral part of Vale\xe2\x80\x99s long-term operating strategy. As part of the CCNR/EW Team, you will be supporting the Maintenance Department in planning all work required to keep the plant running efficiently. Working closely with Maintenance Supervisors, as well as other maintenance and operating departments, in planning all inspections and repair work to minimally impact the plant\xe2\x80\x99s production.

The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a Supervisor, Maintenance Planner to join our Maintenance Planning and Control Team at CCNR/EW in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanent position.

As a Supervisor, Maintenance Planner, you will be helping to facilitate the continuous improvement of the Mechanical Maintenance team\xe2\x80\x99s performance, through the effective use of established processes and procedures. You will be accountable for the planning of work for CCNR/EW\xe2\x80\x99s Maintenance Department and may be required to provide relief supervision as needed.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Work Monday to Friday, 8 hours day shift.
  • Adhere to maintenance business processes as outlined in Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) by using approved systems (SAP, Prometheus, etc.), tools and standards.
  • Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including superintendents, supervisors, other schedulers, planners, crew members, etc.
  • Execute the \xe2\x80\x9cPlanning\xe2\x80\x9d element of the process for all types of work orders - systematic and non-systematic maintenance. This includes shutdown (PMP) and external resource-related work.
  • Coordinate and facilitate with the Scheduler to ensure all required planning/scheduling routines are followed.
  • Ensure WO user statuses are properly maintained throughout the lifecycle of the work order.
  • Ensure work orders are planned with an emphasis on safety and ready to be executed prior to the required end date as determined through the notification.
  • Work within assigned budgets and escalate to management should a budget be exceeded.
  • Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of the \xe2\x80\x9cwork schedule\xe2\x80\x9d for completion by Required End Date.
  • Manage backlog to ensure work orders are planned based on priority and required end date.
  • Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets.
  • Relief supervisor as necessary which requires:
  • Holding the crew accountable for safe behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Ensure planned work orders are closed with proper time confirmations completed.
  • Work within budget, guidelines, and standards.
  • Work with a crew to develop an interactive workplace environment.
About You

Education:
  • College diploma or university degree in a related industrial field or a university degree in a related engineering discipline is preferred.
  • Valid Industrial Mechanic trade certificate for the province of Ontario.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working within SAP and the Prometheus add-on as a Planner and Scheduler.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading crews.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the trades.
Skills:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
  • Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
