By coordinating the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of Cycle Counts, the supervisor ensures that the quantity and quality of products in the regional distribution centers (RDCs) meet requirements. The person holding the position must create and control the budget relating to inventory losses by tracking gains and losses and organizing inventory cycle count of distribution center and investigating all inventory adjustments. The candidate must also support all facilities in the region as well as supervise and direct the Inventory Control team.Shift: Monday to Friday (Day)Location: Milton Distribution CenterYour role:

  • Coach and supervise the Inventory Control team and ensure its development.
  • Support the creation, monitoring and reporting of the inventory loss budget, determine inventory gains and losses in monetary value and communicate them to regional management.
  • Manage all inventory transactions regarding damages, overages as well as purchase order transfers, processing and closing.
  • Investigate and resolve all store inventory claims and investigate and manage store credits.
  • Determine the root causes of inventory discrepancies and develop corrective measures with the Operations team.
  • Create, review and reconcile reports (timing, inventory accuracy, periodic counts, financial inventory account, warehouse management systems, facility utilization).
  • Investigate chargebacks of supplier accounts payable regarding inventory.
  • Organize inventory maintenance counts upon request.
  • Review and approve reconciliations based on discrepancies of cycle counts.
  • Supervise the inventory layout.
  • Ensure the performance and accuracy of the work of the Inventory Control team.
  • Oversee other processes for quality purposes and ensure quality is maintained.
The qualifications we are looking for:
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory position in an inventory control-related function within a distribution environment
  • 5-7 years of inventory experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience with a warehouse management system (WMS) (required); experience with Blue Yonder (a strong asset)
  • Post-secondary training (business administration or supply chain management) an asset, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with MS Access/Excel
  • Ability to multitask and handle changes well.
  • Proven record for complying with safety requirements, and ability to build a culture of safety among peers.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and creatively resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with collaborators and stakeholders.
  • Experience managing teams made up of individual contributors.
  • Proven skills in team building, communication and human relations.
  • Analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills for identifying and creatively solving complex problems.
  • Excellent sense of priorities and good time management
