QUALIFICATIONS




Post secondary degree in a health related discipline Three (3) years experience within the last five years working in a health and social service environment A minimum of two (2) years related supervisory experience in a unionized environment including recruitment, selection/hiring processes, orientation and training, and staff scheduling Other combinations of education and experience may be considered Prior experience in project management Evidence of participation in continuing education activities Must be competent with Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability Demonstrated written and oral communication skills Demonstrated experience in employee and labour relations Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within the Prairie Mountain Health Demonstrated experience in initiating changes and improvements, including skills in workplace re-engineering within a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) environment Ability to prioritize in a changing environment Sensitivity to the human and political dynamics of health care management Strong organizational, decision making and problem solving skills Demonstrated ability to develop Policy & Procedures Ability to display independent judgment Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population Ability to respect and promote confidentiality Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis

POSITION SUMMARY




The Home Care Resource Supervisor shall be accountable to the Regional Manager, Home Care and is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, evaluation and operation of the Home Care Program non-nursing direct care services within Prairie Mountain Health. This includes the recruitment, orientation, scheduling, supervision and evaluation of the Resource Coordinators and Scheduling Clerks and overall performance management of the Home Care Attendants and Support Workers. The incumbent is responsible to ensure that the required standards of practice are maintained and that direct non-nursing care services are delivered in accordance with legislated or Accreditation standards, collective agreement provisions, and any provincial, regional or program requirements. In consultation with the Resource Coordinators, works in the identification of human resource needs of the Direct Service staffing and implements measures for recruitment and retention of staffing within the Home Care Program.


RESPONSIBILITIES:




Overview

Responsible for the safe administration and operation Home Care Program non-nursing direct care services throughout Prairie Mountain Health.

Monitors appropriate financial, human resources, equipment and environmental issues of Home Care Program non-nursing direct care services within Prairie Mountain Health.

Oversees the development of policies and procedures related to Home Care Program non-nursing direct care services.

Instrumental in the planning and development of a sustainable program.

Participates in portfolio/facility/regional team structure.

Develops and maintains functional relationships with other departments/programs.

Plans for continued professional development of staff and self.

Promotes positive public relations.

Operationalizes Prairie Mountain Health's Vision, Mission and Values statements.

Promotes the quality dimensions of access, safety, effectiveness and satisfaction in the provision of Prairie Mountain Health's services.
