EFry Hope and Help provides trauma-informed, inclusive and gender-responsive programs and services to support women and girls at risk or involved in the legal system in building stable lives

We are recruiting a Full time Supervisor for Haven House

, an emergency shelter bed program that supports self-identified women experiencing or at risk of homelessness, receiving temporarily shelter. It offers assistance in accessing permanent housing and in-house support services, including life skills training, counselling, employment, mental health and addiction resources and referrals to other community resources.

The Supervisor ensures the day-to-day operations of the program is run in a professional and efficient manner with attention to confidentiality and in compliance with EFry's policies and philosophy.

Reporting to the Manager, the Supervisor provides ongoing supervision and evaluation of all staff personnel and program policies. The successful incumbent will be responsible for hiring decisions, staff training, and disciplinary measures in collaboration with the Program Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



Plans and develops the program with the Program Manager and implements program activities. Formulates program policies and procedures and evaluates the program in consultation with the Program Manager. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the program by ensuring that the necessary facilities and equipment are in place, program guidelines and policies are adhered to, and program standards licensing requirements are met. Participates in the recruitment and selection of program staff by performing duties such as screening applicants, participating in interview panels and making hiring recommendations. Schedules program staff in accordance with program staffing requirements. Orients and determines the need for and provides training to program staff, volunteers and practicum students. Monitors and authorizes program expenditures and maintains financial records in accordance with established procedures. Prepares the program budget for submission and presentation to Program Manager, Director of Programs and Executive Director. Promotes public awareness and provides support for the program in the development of promotional materials and attending stakeholder and community events. Liaises with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate service provision, program service referrals and represent the organization or program in external events. Maintain program-related records and prepare reports as required. Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Manager or designate.

QUALIFICATIONS:



A degree in social work, counselling or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience totaling eight (8) years is required for this position. Three (3) years' previous direct delivery experience in the community social services sector with demonstrated working knowledge of a specific community-based program and related provincial and community support is required. Prior administrative and supervisory experience is an asset. Knowledge of women's issues, single parenting, poverty issues and community resources. Knowledge of legislation policies and procedures pertaining to the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, Correction Conditional Release Act, Income Assistance, Child Protection and Landlord Tenancy Act. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven leadership skills and strong knowledge of community resources. Demonstrate problem-solving and leadership skills, with the ability to judiciously handle and deescalate situations. Ability to inspire, motivate, lead and provide direction, and act as a professional mentor to front-line staff group including students and volunteers. Detail-oriented and excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, plan, and manage projects and initiatives. Demonstrated ability to foster healthy workplace, free from discriminatory practices and recognize the values of inclusivity and equity.

MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS:



Standard First Aid / CPR certification. Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status. Evidence of a Tuberculosis Test and compliance with the TB Control Program. Satisfactory Criminal Record Review (Vulnerable Sector Search). Ability to lift 30 pounds. Doctors note of fitness to perform the duties of the job. Valid Ontario driver's license, with satisfactory driving record.
