Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced

Janitorial Supervisor

to join our team. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and leads by example while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee nightly janitorial operations and support team members Perform cleaning duties (sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, waste removal) Operate janitorial equipment (auto scrubber and burnisher experience is an asset) Complete written and emailed reports Communicate professionally with management and staff Ensure all safety procedures and cleaning standards are met

Requirements

2-5 years of janitorial or related experience Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle Must reside in the Halifax area 18 years of age or older Ability to pass a criminal background check and federal security clearance WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain) Working cell phone and basic technology skills Ability to work independently and lead a team Steel-toe footwear required

Assets

Supervisory or management experience First Aid certification Experience with auto scrubbers and burnishers

Experience & Certifications

Janitorial experience: minimum 2 years (required) Management experience: 1 year (preferred) English language proficiency (required) Driver's license (required) WHMIS certification (required) First Aid certification (preferred)
