Description of Duties and Responsibilities
The Shift Supervisor reports directly to the Program Manager and provides on shift leadership in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Centre.
Interacts with the clients in a caring, non-judgmental manner
Supervises and trains team members in their functional duties
Reports to the Senior Manager on problems arising with team functioning and occurrences of a serious nature involving clients
Responsible for collaborating with the nurse regarding medical needs of clients
Responsible for ensuring the lock-up of client money and valuables
Ensues that records on status of detox clients are complete and up-to-date
Coordinates with the Addictions Worker to ensure that requests for treatment are addressed
Supervises disinfectant, clean-up and hygienic procedures and assists with implementation of these procedures as required
Participates in general staff meetings and Supervisor's meetings
Compiles daily statistics
Provides written evaluation of staff members as required
Conducts shift exchange meetings with oncoming staff
Records daily attendance of team members
Delegates responsibilities to Support Worker II's
Any other related task or responsibility assigned by the Program Manager
Position Requirements
Willing to work within the team concept of leadership
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of addictions
Demonstrated level of literacy and communication skills sufficient for job responsibilities
Diploma or Degree in the human services field preferred
Current and Clear Police with Vulnerable Sector Check
Current First Aid, CPR, AED Certification
Hours of Work
: Days, 4 on, 4 off rotation.
