Position Summary



The Supervisor, Diagnostic Imaging (DI) provides operational and leadership support to the Director, Diagnostics Imaging, Cardiac Diagnostics and EMG Services. This role ensures effective daily operations across the Imaging modalities. The Supervisor is responsible for staff scheduling and guidance, patient flow, quality control, equipment and software oversight, budget monitoring, and meeting provincial and accreditation standards.


Key Responsibilities




Staff Supervision & Quality Control

Provide day-to-day supervision of technologists across assigned modalities. Support staff with technical/process issues, quality control, and professional development. Manage scheduling (rotations, sick calls, vacations, modified work) and ensure adequate coverage. Conduct interviews, participate in orientation and in-service training, and support student placements. Monitor patient flow, urgent bookings, and scheduling errors; address patient complaints. Review and address RL7 Risk Pro and Feedback Pro events; celebrate staff successes. Maintain compliance with quality assurance, accreditation, and Ministry performance requirements. Foster a positive work environment through coaching, recognition, and clear communication with staff, physicians, and leadership teams.

Meditech RIS/Scheduling

Collaborate with ICT and Finance to maintain accurate RIS modules, billings, and reports. Ensure MRI/CT wait-time hours are tracked, reported, and aligned with provincial targets. Support resource technologists and clerks in optimizing patient schedules based on wait times and demand. Provide backup for payroll entry, billings, workload measurement, and daily order accuracy.

Equipment, Purchasing & Budget

Maintain appropriate stock of DI supplies and order non-stock/interventional items. Coordinate preventative maintenance, service calls, and downtime communication. Assist with capital planning, equipment lifecycle monitoring, and vendor engagement. Support budget variance reviews and new equipment assessments with leadership.

PACS/Imaging Informatics Backup

Serve as backup PACS Administrator: correct data, maintain patient imaging records, and import external studies. Support Radiologists and other physicians with PACS, OneView, and Nuance issues (on-site or remotely). Manage planned/unplanned downtimes and provide 24/7 technical support when required.

Mandatory Qualifications




Bachelor's degree in Medical Radiation Sciences, Health Administration or related field. Minimum 3 years' experience in the Medical Imaging field. Proficiency with Meditech, PACS, Nuance, Excel, Word, and related DI hardware and software.
