Our client is looking for a Day Supervisor to join their team. The Day Supervisor is a key member of the operations leadership team, responsible for overseeing day-to-day production activities, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across all plant lines. Reporting to the Plant Manager and working closely with the Front Office Coordination Team, Warehouse Supervisor, and Evening Shift Supervisor, this role provides leadership to production staff, drives continuous improvement projects, and ensures operational targets are met.
As the Day Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead, coach, and mentor production staff to build high-performing teams.
  • Allocate and organize daily work assignments to meet production schedules.
  • Train new employees in safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
  • Oversee production, packaging, and plant operations to meet daily production targets.
  • Monitor inventory and production KPIs (output, downtime, waste, yields) and implement corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and oversee minor repairs on plant equipment.
  • Enforce corporate safety standards and foster a culture of safe work practices.
  • Ensure compliance with our regulatory body and customer quality requirements.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and schedule preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure finished products meet or exceed customer specifications.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance employee engagement.
You and Your Experience:
  • High school diploma required, post-secondary education in Agriculture, Operations, or Industrial Management is an asset.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, agriculture, food processing, or related industry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience operating and maintaining production equipment.
  • Forklift certification or experience with safe forklift operations.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during peak production.
