POSITION PROFILE
The Supervisor, Clinical Support and Administration plays a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality client care within Access Healthcare Services' programs. Reporting to the Regional Manager, Client Services, this position supports both the nursing and personal support teams by providing clinical oversight, operational coordination, and administrative leadership.
The Supervisor works collaboratively with the Regional Manager, Client Services and Clinical Manager and Educator to oversee and support the field nursing team, ensuring clinical standards, documentation requirements, and performance expectations are met. In addition, the Supervisor provides support to Care Managers in supervising Personal Support Workers (PSWs), Home Support Workers (HSWs), and Health Care Aides (HCAs) as needed to promote consistent service delivery and staff engagement across programs.
This role requires strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to manage both people and processes in a fast-paced, community-based environment. The ideal candidate brings a blend of leadership experience, clinical knowledge, and operational awareness to help drive excellence in client care and staff performance.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical and Operational Leadership
Support the Regional Manager, Client Services, in the supervision, coordination, and evaluation of community nursing services.
Provide guidance and support to field nurses and Care Managers regarding clinical standards, documentation, and service delivery expectations.
Participate in the recruitment, orientation, and mentoring of nursing and support staff.
Provide guidance to team members in decision-making related to client rights, risk management, ethics, and service delivery.
Participate and contribute to policy review, development, and implementation of best practice guidelines.
Undertake field visits and/or cover nursing or Care Manager caseloads when required.
Participate in the clinical resource nurse and management rotations.
Process staff time-off requests fairly and in accordance with policy.
Support other AHS programs as needed.
Client Care Oversight
Participate in the development and review of client care plans, ensuring client-centered and evidence-based care.
Ensure standards of documentation and clinical practice are followed.
Track and escalate non-compliance or practice concerns to the appropriate leadership.
Complete weekly virtual visit approvals and follow up as required.
Track on-call visits and identify inappropriate trends or areas for improvement.
Undertake risk management and analysis, including completion of incident reports and required follow-up.
Promote and maintain a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism across all care teams.
Quality, Risk, and Performance Management
Develop and participate in organizational quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
Participate in quality assurance activities, audits, and service evaluations to support continuous improvement.
Monitor operational performance indicators and contribute to the achievement of organizational goals and targets.
Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and records in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Assist with staff education, performance feedback, and performance management processes.
Maintain accurate and timely administrative records, metrics, and reports to support branch operations.
Ensure timely follow-up on identified risks, incidents, and client or staff concerns.
Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across all care teams.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager or Director.
