What is the Opportunity?

The Supervisor, Beverage Services & Operations will assist in managing event operation services including concerts, corporate events and social functions at The Royal Conservatory's TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning. Primary service types include concession bars, event setup and closing, and merchandise sales. The Supervisor, Beverage Services & Operations works closely with the Event Coordinators, front of house, production and security teams to ensure that events run smoothly while maintaining the highest level of patron satisfaction, comfort and safety.



Main Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in the screening, hiring, training, and scheduling of all event services staff, including bar and merchandise staff. Maintain and uphold all Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario's regulations at all times. Ensure that high-volume business during intermissions is handled in a professional and efficient manner with the goal of capturing all possible patron business. Prepare nightly reports on concession sales, including nightly inventory, sales reports, and reconciliations. Coordinate/interface with security personnel on the proper and timely reporting of incidents involving patrons. Help manage aspects of beverage services including cash handling and reconciliation, receiving, quality control and inventory management. Reconcile event beverage consumption following each event. Assist in managing event and catering services for private events including set-up, tear-down and load-out. Performing other duties as required.






What We're Looking For

Current Smart Serve Certification required. A minimum of two years' experience in food & beverage or events management in a comparable venue. Experience suing MS Suite, and POS systems. Experience managing merchandise operations an asset. Ability to appropriately prioritize tasks to execute events successfully. Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to draft complete and accurate event reports. Ability to remain adaptable and resolve multiple challenges in a working environment where intensity and pace of work can vary.

Hourly Rate

$21.80 per hour.

This role would begin near the end of summer to prepare for 2025-2026 season, with training beginning in August/September 2025. Non-traditional work schedule, including early mornings and long hours. Working in an office at a computer to access shared files, assemble event information, and complete event reports. Working in a team to compile event information and develop a plan to execute a successful event. Act as the leader of a team of event staff to facilitate bar service and back of house hospitality. During events, navigating a large venue with many stairs is a common requirement.
