What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do

The Supervisor, Merchandise Payables will provide leadership, guidance, and support to the Merchandise Payables team and ensure that vendor payment processes are efficient, cost effective, and well controlled in a customer focused environment.

Review key process measurements to identify performance gaps and to initiate process improvements.

Investigate and seek resolution to vendor payments that have been held due to processing issues. Review and approve all documentation for vendor account adjustments and forward for processing.

Review outstanding invoices to prioritize and forward for processing.

Review all lost discounts to determine causes and then follow-up with the team to ensure that the appropriate steps are in place to avoid further losses.

Investigate to determine the root cause of vendor problems escalated from Payment Representatives, take the required actions to resolve the issue, and communicate the resolution as appropriate.

Work with management of other departments to resolve any process or communication issues.

Provide performance feedback, coaching and training to all reporting staff.

Conduct and participate in regular team meetings and individual coaching sessions. Proactively participate as the department representative on cross-functional project teams.

Initiate projects within the team and provide assignments to the department as necessary.

What you bring

University degree in Commerce or business related discipline.

5+ years of related work experience.

Ability to manage/coach a large groups of employees.

Superior communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills and Excellent prioritization, organizational, and problem solving skills.

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the organization and external vendors.

Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access.

Advanced working knowledge of PeopleSoft or similar ERP system.

Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) is considered an asset.
