The Family Counselling Centre is an established community-based agency providing counselling services to Sarnia and Lambton area since 1955. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic team player to work as a

Supervised Visitation Program Lambton Worker

in a casual position.

The Supervised Visitation Family Worker provides a safe, neutral and child-focused setting where non-residential family members can have access with their children. The Family Worker will ensure that visits and exchanges are safe for all family members by upholding the terms of the Service Agreement and by keeping accurate documentation of the visits and exchanges.

Duties & Responsibilities:



Compliant with the Service Agreement between Supervised Visitation Program Lambton and the participants to ensure the safety of, and service consistency for, each attending client. To be knowledgeable of the policies and procedures of Supervised Visitation Program Lambton, from which the Service Agreement is drawn, to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the program. Monitor and record factual interactions and conversations between the children and their family member(s) during the visits and exchanges. Ensure the participants and children enter and leave the premises according to the Service Agreement to safe-guard their safety. Ensure that appropriate interactions and conversations between family members and children take place, and that worker interaction is used only when necessary. Ensure that, when necessary, worker intervention is made to safe-guard the emotional and physical well-being of children and family members as in accordance with the Service Agreement. Maintain the dignity and confidentiality of each client. Receive and respond to telephone messages relating to cancellation of visits and exchanges and keep accurate documentation of same in the Telephone Log book. Collect fees and issue receipts Participate in team meetings and/or professional development opportunities as required. This will be done within the financial restraint of the Program and in consultation with the Coordinator. Complete any additional duties, not outlined above, as deemed necessary by the SAPL Program Coordinator and/or Executive Director. Ability to work evenings and weekends as per Operational Hours: Wednesday 4:30pm-8pm, Thursday 4:30pm -8pm, Friday 4:30pm-8pm, Saturday 9am -2pm, Sunday 1pm - 6pm.

Strong team player and Independent worker Exceptional interpersonal skills Always exerts a professional and respectful etiquette Excellent attention to detail; to document and monitors interactions of clients Proficient with computer systems and familiar with MS Word, Excel, Adobe

Minimum Qualifications:



A post-secondary Community College diploma with an emphasis in Social Sciences and/or Social Services (CYW or SSW) preferred. 3-5 years of relevant experience with children and families. Valid First Aid and CPR certification is required. A current satisfactory criminal reference check, including a vulnerable sector check is required (not older than 6 months)
