The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations..Position OverviewThe Supervised Consumption Site (SCS) Coordinator will develop positive partnerships with various stakeholders including the Aboriginal Health and Wellness Centre (AHWC), the Department of Housing, Addictions and Homelessness (HAH), stakeholders within Shared Health (SH) and others as required. This role requires the Coordinator to be a strong communicator, and engage in various change management strategies.Main Function:
Under the general direction of the Director, Service Planning & Change, this position is responsible for working with stakeholders to implement a supervised consumption site (to be operated by AHWC).NOTE: This is a 10-month term until summer 2025.Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant recent experience in a mental health and addictions and/or academic research setting or related field.
  • Experience coordinating projects including planning, budgeting and tracking and developing detailed work plans, budgets and schedules.
  • Experience in evaluation and report writing.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Bachelor\'s degree in a related field, or suitable combination of post-secondary education and health care/social services experience relevant to the position.
  • Master\'s degree is considered to be an asset.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Active member in good standing with an associated regulatory body as/if appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities as described in the
framework. * Ability to establish rapport with high level government officials as well as with Physicians and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and projects and make decisions independently.
  • Ability to develop implementation plans with logical framework as well as develop monitoring and evaluation tools and processes to ensure that set goals and targets are achieved.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations without compromising the achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and function in a challenging environment.
  • Knowledge of basic computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation utilities and other software that could enhance performance of functions.
  • Ability to write documents and reports in English.
  • Strong organizational skills and flexibility to meet the demands of the position.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, tact and decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability in planning and timely execution of plans.
  • Familiarity and practical experience with a variety of information collection approaches and report preparation.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the sensitivity to issues around mental health and addictions.
  • Fluency in English required, both oral and written.
  • Strong knowledge of Manitoba health systems such as primary care, mental health and addictions fields.
Physical Requirements
  • May be required to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings.
