The Portia Learning Centre has a collaborative and enthusiastic interdisciplinary team which includes Supervised Behaviour Therapists, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Board Certified Behavior Analyst Assistants, Registered Behavior Analyst, Speech and Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychotherapist, and a Psychologist.

The position of a Supervsied Instructor Therapist entails delivering intervention based on the principles of ABA, working one-on-one or in a group setting with children and/or youth with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) or other developmental disabilities. The sessions will focus on teaching a multitude of skills (e.g., cognitive, self-help, play, communication, social, etc) that are specific to each learner and range across a variety of developmental domains. We value teaching children through play! Our therapy centre's have a fun, engaging environment to foster growth and learning in fun, innovative and creative ways to impact the lives of our learners and their families.

Learning and development should never end! Throughout your time at The Portia Learning Centre training and learning opportunities are ongoing. Instructor Therapists receive 40 hours of intensive training to meet the Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) standards.

Programs will be developed and written by Board Certified Behavior Analysts & Registered Behavior Analysts, and implemented under their supervision.

Full time positions: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm Part time positions require a minimum of 15 hours per week with full shifts from 8:30am-12:00pm or from 1:00pm - 4:30pm

Responsibilities:
- Provide behavioural therapy services to children with developmental disabilities
- Conduct assessments
- Implement behavior intervention strategies and techniques
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress
- Provide support and education to families/caregivers

Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Psychology, Social Work, Behavioural Science, Education, Child and Youth Worker, Developmental Service Worker, or related field (or working towards)
- Experience working with children, preferably in a therapeutic setting
- Knowledge of behavioral principles and interventions
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with case management processes
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis
- Understanding of medical terminology, particularly related to pediatrics

You must be able to lift up to 45 pounds. You must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time. You must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time. Having reliable transportation is an asset. You must possess a clear criminal record that has been completed within the last 30 days.
