Opportunity Description:



As the Project Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of construction project contracts. You will:

Oversee and coordinate

various trades & subcontractors to ensure seamless collaboration.

Track and analyze

key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress and performance.

Utilize project forms

to manage tasks efficiently and ensure timely completion of all project activities.
Your role is vital in maintaining project functionality, adhering to contractual obligations, and meeting client expectations. By ensuring that all aspects of the project run smoothly, you will contribute significantly to its overall success.

The role of Superintendent is a key player in ensuring our company is able to achieve success in four key areas of Safety, Quality, Cost and Schedule.

The successful candidate will possess not only the requisite knowledge to make informed business decisions regarding our day-to-day operations but also have the soft skills required to motivate and lead a diverse team of tradesmen and labourers completing a wide variety of scopes.

Job Duties:



Leader in safety. Deliver Alcor's safety program and set expectations to general foreman, foreman, and craft. Work Management: Receive, prioritize, and delegate work orders, purchase orders, request for information, proposed change notices, change orders, etc. to appropriate people in timely manner. Coordination: Coordinate and schedule resources, materials, and equipment to ensure timely completion of work while minimizing disruptions to project. Supervision: Provide effective leadership and guidance to craft personnel, supervise their work, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and organizational policies. Quality Control: Perform regular inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with established quality standards and troubleshoot any issues that may arise. Technical Expertise: Possess a thorough understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general project construction practices to address any construction tasks when required. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all construction documentation, and any related documentation required for reporting or audit purposes. Budget Management: Assist in monitoring and controlling project expenses by optimizing resources, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and recommending improvements. Training and Development: Identify training needs of employee's, provide coaching and mentorship, and support their professional growth and development. Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors as needed, ensuring their compliance with contractual agreements and performance standards. KPI Tracking and Monitoring Delivers workforce requirements: Requisition, onboarding, assignment of craft to crews. Schedules work to be performed, and reviews work accomplished by crews. Prepares schedules, construction methods and procedures. Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures. Coordinates activities with other disciplines or project scopes within your work areas. Performs personnel evaluations, ensures subordinates complete personnel evaluations. Ensures that Alcor follows Provincial and Federal safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied within assigned area of responsibility. Professionally interact daily with client. Extensive communication. Heavy resource scheduling and workforce logistics. Able to perform material take-offs, place material order. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:



5 years in craft ranks, 5+ years as Superintendent or Supervision capacity. Knowledge of multi-discipline construction, engineering, or maintenance operations. Able to read engineering scope packages, all trades, and translate to work plan. Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities. Education: Red Seal tradesman, high school graduate, OR post-secondary degree an asset OR specialized courses in construction technology. Extensive actual work experience leading to the thorough understanding of the knowledge described above. Possesses intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point. Proficient in implementing documentation: Request for Information, Proposed Change Notices, Change Orders, Daily Project Reports, Scheduling, Safety Documents, Redline Drawings, Inspection Test Plans.
Work Conditions:

24/7 availability may be required. Physical ability to lift up to 50lb. Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc. Overtime as required. Hazards associated with the trade. Work both indoors and outdoors.
