New Humble Community School (NHCS) is a K-9 public charter school preparing to expand into senior high school grades. NHCS is operating in its fifth year under the direction of the New Humble Community School Association (NHCSA).
NHCS offers a unique learning experience using agriculture, environment & stewardship as instruments for experiential hands-on learning. Fostering the growth of each individual student through innovative academics, stewardship and agriculture literacy. NHCS consists of over 200 students and 24 staff. It is located at 48469 Alberta-795 (8 minutes south of Calmar on highway 795) in Leduc County.
The Board is seeking a dynamic, result-orientated visionary leader for the position of Superintendent. The Superintendent functions as Chief Executive Officer of the New Humble Community School Association providing strategic advice and assistance to the Board of Directors and as Chief Educational Officer to the school providing leadership to the management team.

Charter School Goals
Demonstrate a deep understanding of and strong commitment to the Charter mandates as approved by Alberta Education with a dedication and genuine interest in pioneering educational innovation, research and program development relevant to the Associations Charter.
Provide strategic oversight to ensure the successful implementation of Charter goals within the school's instructional programming.
Clearly articulate the Charter's principles, benefits and supporting research to a wide range of stakeholders.
Community and School Presence
Actively represent and promote the NHCSA Charter goals at key provincial, community and school events associated with NHCS and/or The Association of Alberta Public Charter Schools.
A strong collaborative approach as a means of maintaining a climate of innovation and creative problem solving which serves as a foundation of the school community. Being a part of this organization means engaging with a culture that values its shared sense of community, including the Board of Directors, administration, staff, parents, students, community citizens and associate not-for-profit groups.
Charter School Expansion
Play an integral role in advancing the Board's and community's aspirations of eventually expanding the grade structures in NHCS to include secondary education within the NHCSA that will include grades 10-12.
Bring to life the newly approved capital project of a new K-12 school facility at a new site.
School Authority Operations and Resources
Demonstrate diligence and attentive commitment to fulfill the requirements of Alberta Education and the Minister in a timely fashion.
A history of effective communication, interpersonal, analytical, organizational and leadership skills as well as sound and strategic skills of financial management, as an educational leader.

NHCSA offers a competitive compensation package within the limits set by the Superintendent of Schools Regulation. This position allows for flexible FTE arrangements (e.x. 0.4-0.6), depending on the candidate's availability.
NHCSA is also open to flexible and hybrid working arrangements that meet both candidate and organizational needs.
Candidates who have their Alberta Superintendent certification, or who can qualify for permanent certification within a 3-year period, and who are willing to be a part of the community and embrace the charter mandate, are invited to apply.
