Location: Bluewater District School Board Education Centre (Chesley) Commencing: September 2023 Permanent full-time: 12 Month position Bluewater District School Board invites applications for the position of Superintendent of Education. We are seeking a creative, dynamic, and committed educational leader to join our executive team. This position will be available due to retirement. Responsibilities: Superintendents of Education in Bluewater District School Board demonstrate their commitment to the priorities of the board?s Multi-Year Strategic Plan by ensuring and promoting the well-being of students and staff, quality instruction and learning experiences, community engagement, and responsible stewardship of resources. As exemplary instructional leaders, Superintendents of Education possess superior interpersonal, communication, collaborative decision-making and team-building skills. Applicants must demonstrate their ability to support the improvement of student achievement and well-being while working as part of multi-disciplinary teams of staff, trustees, parents, and community members. A commitment to equity and provision of leadership to administrators in creating inclusive and instructionally effective learning environments that support achievement and well-being for all students must be demonstrated. Qualifications and Experience: Candidates must hold Academic Supervisory Officer Qualifications under the Education Act and its regulations. Internal candidates from Bluewater District School Board must hold Supervisory Officer Qualifications or commit to attaining these qualifications no later than August 31, 2025. The successful candidate should have proven skills or related experience in the following areas: educational politics and policy; educational leadership and finance; social impacts and roles within school settings and larger community; organizational and change theory; and personnel management.
