POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced

Superintendent

to lead on-site execution of data center construction projects in Montreal. This role is critical to the successful delivery of complex, fast-paced EPC builds, with responsibility for field operations, schedule adherence, subcontractor coordination, safety compliance, and overall site performance.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in large-scale industrial or commercial construction--ideally in MEP-intensive, mission-critical, or data center environments. This role requires strong leadership, a hands-on mindset, and the ability to manage multiple trades and workflows simultaneously in a dynamic site environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

Site Management & Execution

Supervise all on-site construction activities from mobilization to closeout. Direct and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and field personnel to maintain productivity and quality. Ensure work is performed according to approved drawings, specs, and safety standards. Proactively address site issues, change conditions, and schedule impacts in real-time.

Scheduling & Coordination

Maintain daily logs, site reports, and project schedule updates. Coordinate inspections, deliveries, and utility connections with appropriate authorities. Work closely with the Project Manager to align field progress with project milestones.

Health & Safety

Enforce company and regulatory safety policies on-site at all times. Lead daily toolbox talks and ensure all workers comply with PPE and site safety procedures. Report and document any incidents or near-misses immediately.

Quality Control

Monitor workmanship and ensure construction meets high standards and contract documents. Review and approve mock-ups, materials, and installations in coordination with consultants. Support punch list walkthroughs and final quality checks.

Team Leadership

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professionalism on-site. Mentor and support junior staff, laborers, and site coordinators. Serve as the face of DEC to clients, consultants, and vendors at the site level.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial or industrial construction. Data center, critical infrastructure, or MEP-heavy project experience is strongly preferred. Experience working within EPC or design-build environments is an asset.

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of site construction practices, safety codes, and quality control. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. Proficient in field reporting tools and project software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.). Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Certifications (Preferred)

OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification. WHMIS and First Aid/CPR. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites
