Purpose
Reporting to the Manager, Asset Management, the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent will lead the Mobile Maintenance team to ensure the safety, reliability, and cost-efficient performance of mobile production, auxiliary, and light vehicle fleets.
Key Work Activities
In this role, the individual will:
Provide visible leadership and promote a strong safety culture that strives for a workplace free from fatalities, injuries, and illnesses.
Ensure all mobile maintenance activities comply with company HSE standards, regulatory requirements, and site-specific safety plans.
Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and critical-control verifications as part of fatal risk management.
Lead and develop a team of supervisors, tradespersons, technicians, and contractors engaged in mobile maintenance.
Lead the execution of planned, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of mobile assets.
Ensure equipment availability and reliability targets are met or exceeded.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance planning, reliability, engineering and supply chain to optimize fleet performance. Apply strategies and standard methodologies to improve asset performance, prolong equipment life, and minimize maintenance costs.
Develop and manage department OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
Execute regular financial reviews and refine plans as needed to stay within budgetary constraints.
Responsible for identifying significant risks, implementing risk reduction strategies, and conducting ongoing risk assessments to ensure safety, security and operational capability of assigned plant.
Oversee contractor performance to ensure adherence to service contract scope, safety standards, and obligations, while conducting periodic service reviews and promoting continuous improvement in alignment with organizational objectives.
Foster a continuous?improvement mindset and support change management in mobile maintenance processes.

Training & Experience
The preferred candidate will have the below qualifications and experience:
Minimum 10 years previous experience in mobile equipment maintenance within the mining industry.
Trade qualification as a heavy duty mechanic and/or a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5 years in a leadership role.
Advanced technical knowledge of mobile equipment including light vehicles (CAT, Hitachi, P&H, Komatsu). Deep understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling and reliability principles as applied to mobile maintenance.
Experience with CMMS platforms such as SAP, Pronto JDE, Oracle etc.
Proven track record of safe work practices in high-risk environments, hazard identification and rectification.
Confidence to carry out risk assessments, verifications and workplace inspections to ensure site standards and safe working environments.
Previous experience leading, coaching and mentoring employees with diverse skills and capabilities.
Be a motivated problem solver dedicated to continuous improvement. High level understanding of incident and investigation processes.

The expected salary range for this role is CA$145,000 - $193,000 annually with additional 25% Short term and 15% long term incentives. This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
