About Brucejack
Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga'a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Purpose
As the Superintendent, Underground Mine Operations at Newmont Brucejack, you will lead underground mining operations with a focus on safety, production efficiency, and continuous improvement. You'll oversee a team of supervisors and operators, manage key resources, and ensure compliance with operational plans, driving high performance in one of Canada's top underground mining operations.
Essential Duties
Supervise daily mining activities and align operations with safety protocols and production targets
Lead a team of operators and supervisors in a mechanized underground environment
Allocate equipment and personnel, optimizing resource use and asset productivity
Monitor KPIs and implement strategies to improve performance and minimize downtime
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to maintain operational readiness
Coach and mentor team members to build capability and support career development
Liaise with cross-functional teams to solve operational challenges and support mine planning
Manage short- and long-term goals aligned with budgets, forecasts, and production schedules
Champion a positive, safety-first culture throughout the operation
Training& Experience
Minimum 10 years of underground mining experience in a mechanized environment
Minimum5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a senior supervisory role
Strong knowledge of underground mine production, safety regulations, equipment, and development methods
Proven leadership in coordinating multi-shift operations and motivating large crews
Proficiency with operational reporting systems (e.g., MS Excel, SAP)
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Strong understanding of risk mitigation, mine planning, and continuous improvement practices
Education in Mining Engineering or related field is considered an asset
Ability to coach, mentor, and develop direct reports
Working Conditions
Remote camp setting with private accommodations provided
Onsite meals, gym, recreation, and entertainment facilities
Travel allowance provided and transportation arrangements included
Rotational schedule: 13 days on / 13 days off + 2 travel days (14/14 schedule)

We are now recruiting for the position of Superintendent, Underground Mine Operations with a competitive annual salary ofCAD 145,400 - CAD 197,676 with an additional short-term target incentive of 25%, as well as an additional long-term target incentive of 15%.
