Overview:
Summer Student - Hay River
The summer student will provide partial coverage for the Distribution Technologist position, assisted by the T&D Engineer and T&D Asset Manager. This position will provide administrative support to the Distribution Technologist during the heavy workload associated with construction season. Work will predominantly be associated with Type 6 and Type 7 projects. Most day to day supervision of the successful candidate will be conducted by the Distribution Technologist, with management functions and additional support from the T&D Asset Manager.
Responsibilities:
Work will predominantly be associated with Type 6 and Type 7 projects.
o Electronic filing of documents
o Reviewing finished project files for completeness
o Following up with customers via phone calls and email
o Assisting in the production of quotes or agreements based on templates
o Assisting customers with incomplete Request for Service Forms
o Following up with customers via phone calls and email
o Submitting requests for project numbers, project statuses, and deposit amounts
o Tracking received Electrical Authorizations
o Tracking received Deposits
o Providing administrative support for Type 6/7 projects to the Line Crew
o Checking inventory levels
o Following up with Line Crew on project completion and material usage
o Provide partial coverage for the Distribution Tech position
o Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED.
• Must be a enrolled in post-secondary education in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field and have already completed at least one year of studies.
• Must be returning to full-time studies in Fall 2025.
• Must possess excellent analytical skills and structured problem solving abilities.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must have demonstrated strong organizational skills
• Must possess good oral and written communication skills
• This position is located in Hay River, NT; No housing or relocation assistance provided.
