Join our Parking Services team this summer! This position performs collection and analysis of parking data including occupancy, turnover, inventory and related information to evaluate the effectiveness of existing parking programs and to assist with parking studies and planning.
Duties - Union
Perform manual parking counts in on and off-street locations in a variety of weather conditions and related data processing.
Gather data from automated systems (Loops, detection cameras, ALPR).
Parking analysis using software applications and MS Excel.
Writing reports and documentation and creating presentation materials.
Preparation for and attendance at public events.
Field visits, taking measurements and public surveys.
Working with GIS maps.
Other miscellaneous duties, as required, to assist with daily operations.

Applicants must be enrolled in a Degree or Diploma program at a recognized post-secondary institution in one of the following:Civil Engineering Technology
Transportation Engineering
Community/Transportation Planning
Computer Science (Analytics-Business Intelligence focus)
Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office

Student program eligibility requirements
: You must be attending school, college or university during the last school term and returning to your studies in the subsequent academic year. VERIFICATION WILL BE REQUIRED. Enrolment in a formal co-op program is not required.
International students must be attending school full time, possess a valid study permit and may require a valid co-op work permit when applying for a co-op position. Please note that international students can only participate in co-op work terms for up to 50% of their total program of study (example: a 2 year diploma program is limited to two co-op work terms).
