The Crisis Line Operations Intern will play a key role in supporting the evening and overnight operations of Nisa Foundation's crisis line. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to learn about crisis intervention, nonprofit management, and community services. The intern will assist in optimizing processes, analyzing operational data, and enhancing resource coordination while contributing to a vital support service.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in drafting and refining operational policies, including shift protocols and escalation procedures. Analyze call data to identify trends and recommend staffing adjustments. Develop and maintain a referral database for internal and external resources. Collaborate with staff and volunteers to troubleshoot operational challenges. Support the scheduling of shifts, ensuring consistent coverage. Participate in training sessions and provide insights to enhance their effectiveness. Prepare a comprehensive report at the end of the internship, summarizing findings and recommendations.


EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION:

Enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Social Work, Psychology, or related fields. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Interest in crisis intervention, community services, or nonprofit management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data analysis tools is an asset. Proficiency in Arabic or Urdu is an asset

Eligibility

This position is part of the Canadian government's summer job program.Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or a protected person within the meaning of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Able to provide a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN). Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
