What You'll Do



Our Summer Education Program Coordinator create a welcoming environment for children and families by providing excellent front-line service that support and inspire reading and discovery throughout the summer.

As a Summer Education Program Coordinator, you will:

Implement a summer reading incentive program. This involves working one-on-one with children, listening to oral book reports, writing stories about interactions with program participants, encouraging children to read, and organizing supplies Assist library staff with program preparations, including craft and activity preparations, website data entry, online content generation, library collection related work, and electronic records management Edit and organize statistics; stories, photo release forms and other data to use in a final report.

What You'll Need to Succeed



To be qualified for and successful in the role:

Preferably enrolled in an early childhood education program or equivalent with some training or experience in the fields of education and/or communications and/or library science. A demonstrated interest and ability to work with children. Proficiency in a second language is an asset. Organized with attention to detail, creative/artistic abilities an asset Experience with public speaking and related community outreach activities with children, teachers, and other stakeholders Ability to work across multiple locations within Cambridge

Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment. Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International students are not eligible participants. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

Pay

: the starting rate of pay is $23.00 per hour

Hours

: 70 hours in a two-week period

Schedule

: working various day, evening, and weekend shifts

Note: Successful candidate will report to work at different locations of our organization on different days depending on tasks, etc.
