Rooks to Cooks is the GTA's leading culinary school for children, offering a wide variety of hands-on cooking programs for youth ages 4-14 -- from our popular summer culinary camps to in-school workshops, community activations, and special events. About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Camp Counsellors to join our summer camp team!
Working closely alongside the Program Coordinator, you will assist in running all aspects of the daily program, ensuring campers have a safe, fun, and engaging experience. You will play a key role in preparing materials for break-time and recess activities, arts and crafts, team-building exercises, and the Friday Pop-Up Restaurant. This position is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with children, have strong organizational skills, and are eager to contribute to a positive and dynamic camp environment.

Monday June 22nd, 2026 - Friday September 4th, 2026
Work alongside the Program Coordinator to support the smooth running of all daily camp operations.
Plan, prepare, and execute break-time activities, arts and crafts, games, and team-building exercises, ensuring all materials and equipment are ready and organized.
Supervise and support campers during recipe demonstrations, recipe execution, and other structured activities, modeling safe and positive behavior.
Conduct daily morning and afternoon huddles with the Program Coordinator, including daily affirmations and "rose & thorn" reflections.
Assist campers with planning and creating their Pop-Up Restaurant theme, name, and decor, and support all aspects of the Friday night Pop-Up Restaurant.
Build authentic relationships with campers and their families, providing a warm, approachable, and supportive presence.
Help define and reinforce camp rules and expectations, and contribute to maintaining a physically and emotionally safe environment for campers and staff.
Respond professionally to incidents, documenting and completing incident reports in a timely manner.
Supervise aftercare campers, ensuring their safety, engagement, and well-being until pickup.
Support and mentor Counsellors-in-Training (CITs), guiding them in camper supervision, activity facilitation, and daily responsibilities.
Assist with cleaning and organizing classroom and activity spaces at the end of the day, and support preparation for the following day.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator or head office to ensure smooth camp operations
Qualifications / Experience
1+ years of professional experience working with children
Graduation from a CIT or LIT program
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Can speak fluent English
All employees will be required to obtain and demonstrate proof of completion of the following documents before the start date of their training and employment:
First Aid & CPR, Food Handlers Certification and a clear Vulnerable Sector Screening
