The Elizabeth Fry Society of Greater Vancouver (EFry) is a charitable organization that supports women,
girls, and children at risk, involved in or affected by the justice system. Our programs work to break the
cycle of poverty, addiction, mental illness, homelessness, and crime.
We are recruiting a Casual Suicide Intervention Clinician for a position on the Youth Services Program.
This on-call position is dependent on available funding and plays a critical role in providing immediate,
compassionate support to youth at risk of suicide, as well as to survivors and their families.
The Clinician delivers client-focused, trauma-informed counselling and leads suicide intervention
initiatives including individual, family, and group therapy sessions. The role also involves facilitating
community-based workshops to promote suicide prevention, resilience, and mental wellness among
youth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Provide direct, client-centered counselling services through both referrals and self-referrals.
Deliver individual, family, and group therapy aligned with collaborative service and safety plans.
Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and suicide risk evaluations.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including case notes and clinical reports.
Address clients' concerns with empathy, professionalism, and responsiveness.
Collaborate with internal staff and external partners through meetings and coordinated care
planning.
Contribute to community development efforts through outreach and education.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Master's degree in clinical psychology
Minimum of 3 years' experience working with high-risk youth populations.
Strong knowledge of
suicidology
, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care.
Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable and marginalized populations.
Valid Class 5 Driver's License, or currently in the process of obtaining one
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
Proven ability to work effectively and sensitively with diverse communities, including those
impacted by mental health challenges, systemic inequity, and trauma.
MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
o Standard First Aid with CPR-C.
Doctor's Note of fitness required.
Satisfactory Criminal Record Review (Vulnerable Sector Search).
Class 5 Driver's License & Driving Record.
