Job Description

Valard Construction is Canada\xe2\x80\x99s premier utility contractor, as well as head of the Valard Group of Companies and part of the Quanta Group, the largest electrical power contractor in North America. Valard has full-service capabilities for transmission, distribution, substations, foundations, telecommunications and renewable energy. The Ground Person will work with the substation electricians, The successful candidate will have experience in construction or related trades, with knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems. The ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy objects is required. The grounds person will work as part of a team, under the supervision of the Site Supervisor.
In preparation for upcoming projects, we are seeking Ground Person with electrical experience for work located in Whitehorse YT.
Requirements

• Operate hand and power tools, including drills, saws, and cutting tools
• Assist with electrical and mechanical work, including wiring, conduit installation, and equipment installation
• Maintain a safe work environment, following all safety protocols and regulations
• Perform physical labour, including lifting heavy 50lbs objects repetitively and working at heights
• Communicate effectively with the project team and other trades on site
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
• Assist with inventory management and logistics
• Other duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Site Supervisor
  
  Qualifications:
• Previous experience in construction or related trades
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

• Ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail

• Effective communication and teamwork skills

• Valid driver\'s license and reliable transportation
