Under the supervision of a Citywide Superintendent.
1. Co-ordinate the activities of the Line Painting crews and the sign shop crews and authorize employee crew cards.
2. Assess the work areas and determine which methods/activities are required as per the M.M.M.S. guidelines.
3. Provide general supervision and direction of the activities of work crews engaged in line painting operations and activities of the sign shop as per the M.M.M.S. guidelines.
4. Meet with Utilities for appropriate locates.
5. Maintain control of all sign stock.
6. Document all sign installation and maintenance for CGS.
7. Meet with departments for various sign installations.
8. Monitor the approved budgets for line painting and sign shop activities, reporting any variances to supervision.
9. Oversee the 4 x 4 plowing and the bus stop snow removal operations.
10. Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS's Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
11. Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education.
Completion of a college diploma in a related field considered an asset.
Minimum five (5) years experience with line painting maintenance equipment and activities; and with sign shop maintenance equipment and activities.
Proven experience in the supervision of crews engaged in line painting maintenance and sign shop activities.
Capable of overseeing 4 x 4 plowing and bus stop snow removal.
Ability to exercise appropriate judgement for assignments within the M.M.M.S. guidelines.
Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
May require the use of a CGS vehicle on CGS business. Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver's class "DZ" licence and have an acceptable driving record.

Development opportunity rate of pay: $35.25 per hour. The successful candidate will be paid at the reduced rate until the minimum qualifications have been met.
