Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic student/Intern optician to join our team at Innisfil Eye Center. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in opticianry, while receiving mentorship ( log book fittings) and training from experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

: we will provide all necessary training

- Assist patients in selecting eyewear that suits their needs, preferences, and lifestyle
- Take accurate measurements for fitting eyeglasses or contact lenses

- Edge and mount, adjust, and repair eyewear as needed
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance
- Process orders for prescription eyewear and contact lenses
- Collaborate with the optometrist to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment
- Maintain inventory of eyewear frames, lenses, and other optical supplies
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly

-Filling Paperwork, billing Insurance

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of optical principles, including lens materials, frame styles, and fitting techniques
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to eye care
- Familiar using electronic health record (EHR) system
- Previous experience in retail (not mandatory)
- Familiarity with optical laboratory procedures is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship / Co-op

Pay: $17.25-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
