THE OPPORTUNITY
Ovintiv's program is a comprehensive summer internship designed to provide a solid foundation of knowledge and experiential training while giving students the opportunity to apply what they are learning in school in a real-world setting. As an intern you will spend the summer working closely with an experienced mentor and be assigned a project and various other responsibilities intended to provide you with learning opportunities while delivering meaningful contributions to Ovintiv.

We are seeking an individual to fill a summer student position with the Ovintiv Sustainability Team. This is a dynamic group that works on projects focused on our environmental, social and governance initiatives to influence the future of our industry, give back to the communities where we live and work, and ultimately support our core business.

RESPONSIBILITIESCapture data and carry out peer benchmarking around key sustainability and social investment metrics Conduct research into industry sustainability trends, policies and regulations Coordinate responses to various sustainability-focused surveys and questionnaires Support internal communication objectives by identifying and highlighting Ovintiv's sustainability and social investment initiatives across internal channels Coordinate and assist with planning of social investment and volunteer events, helping to strengthen community engagement and employee participation


HOW DO I QUALIFY?Currently enrolled in your second or third year of a related discipline such as Environmental Sciences or Business or Political Science The ideal candidate will be a third-year business student with an interest / academic background in Sustainability / Environment / Public Policy or similar. Solid academic results in your core subjects, balanced with other work, volunteer or extracurricular experiences Must be enrolled as a full-time student through December 2026. You must be legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of your work term You possess the ability to work independently Able to work May 4 - August 21, 2026.


Hiring Hourly Range: $22.50 - $31.15 CAD
Compensation may vary and will be determined by year in school.
