As we continue to strengthen our student experience, we are seeking a student-focused and highly organized Student Services Specialist to join our Student Services team. This role is ideal for someone who is motivated by impact, enjoys cross-functional collaboration, and is passionate about helping students successfully navigate their academic journey.
What You'll Do
As a Student Services Specialist, you will be a key point of coordination and support throughout the student journey--helping ensure students receive clear communication, consistent services, and timely access to the supports they need to succeed.
Support the Student Journey: Help coordinate services and supports from enrollment through graduation, ensuring a seamless, student-centered experience.
Be a Trusted Point of Support: Assist students in navigating college processes, referrals, and available resources with professionalism and care.
Coordinate Communication: Support student-facing communications such as newsletters, key dates, service updates, and announcements to ensure students stay informed and engaged.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Admissions, Academic Services, the Registrar's Office, Human Resources, and Marketing to align student services and support smooth transitions.
Drive Engagement & Belonging: Assist with the planning and delivery of student orientations, engagement initiatives, and community-building activities across Newfoundland and Labrador.
Connect Students to Supports: Help link students with on-campus and community-based resources including housing, health, and social services.
Support Issue Resolution: Assist with documentation, referrals, and processes related to student concerns or conduct matters in collaboration with Human Resources and Student Services leadership.
Use Feedback to Improve Services: Collect and review student feedback to identify trends and opportunities to enhance service delivery and the overall student experience.
What You Bring
A post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field (education, human resources, communications, social sciences, student services, or related area).
Experience in student services, customer service, administrative support, or a related role.
Clear, professional communication and strong relationship-building skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A student-first mindset grounded in inclusivity, accessibility, and respect.
Comfort working collaboratively across teams and adapting to changing priorities.
Assets:
Experience in post-secondary education or student-facing support roles.
Familiarity with Newfoundland and Labrador's post-secondary education landscape.
