The Opportunity


The Research & Innovation Team at Keyano College is seeking a Student Research Assistant to support the research project Student Research Assistant for research project: Promoting Refugee Self-Reliance in Canada: A Preparatory Study Towards Developing the Refugee Empowerment and Independence Training Program (REITP). The Student Research Assistant will provide assistance with research-related and administrative tasks to the research project's principal investigator, Dr. Reza Ashouri-Talooki. The Student Research Assistant(s) will report to the Research Chair for Northern Community Sustainability.

Qualifications


Must be a current Keyano College student. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to collaborate with others. Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. High level of professionalism. Strong problem-solving skills. A drive to learn and engage in broad research-related tasks. Previous work experience in research-related fields is an asset. Previous experience with and knowledge of the first responder field is an asset. Familiarity with statistical software such as SSPS is an asset. TCPS2: CORE certification is an asset. Familiarity with methods for research design, implementation and analysis is an asset.

Compensation and Benefits


CUPE Student Rate: IS1 $20.43/hour; maximum 10 hours per week
