The Role
The Student Research Assistant, Recreation & Models of Aging Care will work on the Who Cares? research project underway in the Department of Therapeutic Recreation. Research tasks that will be performed by the Student Research Assistant includes: reviewing and compiling literature, writing an annotated bibliography, conducting and transcribing one-on-one interviews and focus groups, inputting and analyzing survey data, coding qualitative data, attending meetings with research team members, co-facilitating meetings and workshops, attending community events, and providing regular support to peer researchers and research participants. The specific duties performed by the Student Research Assistant will be determined by the current phase of the research projects and the priority of research tasks.
An ongoing question of inquiry of the Department of Therapeutic Recreation focuses on the potentially transformative impact of involvement in research activities on student research assistants. As such, a small component of the role of the Student Research Assistant is to participate in research activities that gather these data.
