This position is responsible for planning, organizing and delivering recruitment events on and off campus. Actively participates in the development and delivery of innovative student recruitment strategies that use leading edge marketing practices and are reflective of a culturally diverse adult demographic.
Acts as a liaison with adult learning centres, community agencies, private and public schools, other post-secondary institutions, government agencies and a variety of community groups and organizations.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

1. Plans, organizes and delivers recruitment events such as career and education fairs, information sessions, high school visits, campus tours and recruitment presentations on and off campus.
2. Incorporates a strong student advising component within the recruitment strategy, promotes a group presentation approach to ensure information is delivery efficiently to the widest possible target audience.
3. Acts as the lead in organizing, planning and attending/officiating all program Information Sessions in conjunction with Advising and Department Heads.
4. Develops and delivers dynamic multi-media presentations that are targeted to specific audiences and sensitive to the communication needs of a culturally diverse population.
5. Coordinates logistical support for recruitment events including scheduling, promotion, communications, venue set-up, room booking, catering and billing.
6. Plans, coordinates and attends annual high school visits coordinated through the PSIBC website.
7. Engages prospective students regarding academic goals and options and provides comprehensive information College programs, courses, admissions requirements and funding sources.
8. Operates as a fully functioning member of PSIBC and attends annual meetings.
9. Responds to requests for information and actively promotes VCC to individuals, groups and the broader student community.
10. Receives admissions applications and supporting documents, refers students for assessment, if appropriate, and follows-up with students to provide further assistance as required.
11. Strategizes with Faculty, Department Heads and Administrators to assist in areas of soft-enrolment and create solutions.
12. Actively engages, selects, trains and coordinates student ambassadors to support marketing initiatives (i.e., student-led tours and other informational events).
13. Develops and maintains a professional network with key referral sources and other community partners, ensuring the College has a strong presence and is positioned to effectively collaborate on broader recruitment initiatives.
14. Acts as an expert resource to college leadership and staff regarding student recruitment programs and best practices.
15. Manages budget allocated for student recruitment activities.
16. Explores non-traditional marketing activities and recommends new technologies that advance student recruitment efforts such as multimedia, social media and web-based marketing tools.
17. Advises the Marketing department in the development of all program and school promotional materials and collaborates on any new recruitment initiatives.
18. Manages the ordering, inventory and distribution of promotional material and resources.
19. Ensures Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPOP) regulations are observed at all times.
20. Provides input into the development and enhancement of business processes and procedures that improve student access.
21. Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
- Completion of a two year diploma program from a recognized post-secondary educational institution in Business, Marketing, Operations or Communication, plus one year of presentation skills or public speaking courses such as Toastmasters and two years\' experience related to student recruitment, customer service, sales or marketing or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience may be substituted for the required qualifications.

- Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty and the general public. Ability to build consensus in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to network and build effective relationships with people of diverse levels of education, experience and cultural backgrounds.
- Understanding of recruitment issues and strategies for adult learners.
- Understanding of the principles of adult education.
- Good working knowledge of current and planned programs, courses, admission requirements and pre-requisites.
- Demonstrated excellent public speaking skills and experience developing and customizing presentations for both large and small groups.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage several time-sensitive projects at any given time. Ability to exercise a high level of initiative.
- Ability to research and analyze data to support recommendations for a targeted recruitment strategy.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Strategic Enrolment Management and ability to initiate these theories into creative and dynamic processes and procedures related to recruitment.
- Demonstrated interest and capacity for continuous learning and the ability to use creative and innovative thinking that enhances student recruitment initiatives.
- Computer experience and good working knowledge of MS Office, desktop publishing applications and databases. Experience with Student Information Systems (Banner preferred).
- Ability to develop and maintain knowledge of the Student Information System specific to admissions and registration.
- Ability to travel regularly between campuses and to off-site locations. Frequent evening and weekend work will be required to accommodate recruitment events.
- Must have a valid Class 5 BC driver\'s license and access to the use of a motor vehicle is essential.
- Ability to physically lift and carry promotional materials, equipment that weigh between 15-20 pounds.
Salary Range - Prorated based on FTE

PAYGRADE 25 - $2,095.57 - $2,458.55 paid bi-weekly
