Job Summary:Blacker-Wood Correspondence Collection Digitization project
The Student Project Assistant for the Blacker-Wood Correspondence Collection Digitization project, under the supervision of the Digitization administrator, provides assistance with digitization of Archival material and ensures the completeness and accuracy of digitized materials. This collection consists primarily of correspondence on natural history topics between scientists and natural historians. Letters are sometimes accompanied by journal articles. The assistant position will: Use a variety of scanning equipment; perform quality control on scanned items; handle rare material; enter data and maintain a project spreadsheet. The goal is to complete the Blacker-Wood Correspondence Collection by the end of Summer 2026.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to clearly transmit and receive information. Reliability and flexibility to meet working hours.
Attention to detail, the ability to work independently and part of a team.
Effective communication and writing skills. Fluency in English and French languages is desired.
