Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting patients with their eyewear needs, providing exceptional service, and ensuring a smooth experience from selection to fitting. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in optical products and strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that best suit their needs and preferences. Conduct measurements for proper fitting of eyewear, including pupillary distance and segment height. Provide information on lens options, coatings, and other optical products. Maintain an organized and well-stocked optical display area. Process orders for eyewear and manage inventory levels. Collaborate with laboratory technicians to ensure accurate fabrication of lenses. Utilize optical software systems, such as Epic, for patient records and order management. Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance. Handle retail sales transactions efficiently while providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

Previous experience as an Optician or in a related optical field is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is beneficial. Strong sales skills with a background in retail management or retail sales is a plus. Familiarity with laboratory processes for lens fabrication is advantageous. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week
