Student Optician - The Vision Clinic

The Vision Clinic is currently seeking a Student Optician in to work in a fast-paced retail optical with a dynamic team. 13 locations within the Niagara and Hamilton regions and over 30 years in business.

Duties include:

Provide exceptional customer service Perform basic pre-exam tests Assist licensed opticians with patient care including helping customers with the selection and fitting of prescription contact lenses, spectacle lenses, frames, and sunglasses Take accurate optical measurements including PDs, heights, and frame adjustments under the supervision of a Licensed Optician Have a clear understanding of current in-store promotions Complete additional daily office tasks such a record keeping, insurance payment processing, maintaining accurate inventory, and tracking requests Support patients in scheduling optometrist appointments Create work orders for the lab and provide all relevant information for manufacturing lenses All tasks associated with contact lens fitting and evaluations under the supervision of a licensed optician Maintain a safe and exceptional level of health care cleanliness at all times General office duties to support the efficiency and smooth operation of the store

Requirements:

Current enrollment in an opticianry post-secondary program, preferably NAIT 1st or 2nd year student Optical retail experience preferred Excellent customer service skills Strong organizational skills, computer knowledge and administrative abilities Excellent communication skills; pleasant telephone manner Fashionable, professional attire Must have own transportation

Job Type: Full-Time - Must be able to work on Saturdays


Work Location: This position is fulltime for our Hamilton Location at 1791 Stonechurch Rd.


Willing to work at multiple locations to cover sick or vacation leaves if required.
