About Us



Key Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world's largest high-grade uranium mill. The uranium milled at Key Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.


The Role



The Student, Metallurgy position resides in the technical services department and reports to the site metallurgist. If you like working as part of a team where we look out for one another and collaborate to strive for excellence, then we may have a job for you.


In this role, you will:



Be responsible for carrying out improvement projects such as metallurgical testwork, process control improvements, and streamlining operational data collection analysis. Work on daily operational data analysis, metallurgical accounting, and continuously improving process operations and process controls. Foster innovation within the operations and technical teams and communicate recommendations to improve operational performance.


Required:




You will be entering your third or fourth year as a university student in chemical engineering, metallurgical engineering, computer engineering, or related science. Effective communication, analytical and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate resolute attitude towards safety. Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft. Coachable and open to feedback. You must be returning to school for the academic semester following your work term with Cameco.



Recommended:




Familiar with PI asset framework & PI vision. Experience with writing python code, managing small projects, and time series data analysis and interpretation.
